This Easy Apple Crisp with Oat Crumble topping is as delicious as it is comforting. Tender apples topped with a simple brown sugar oat topping, this apple dessert can be served with ice cream, whipped cream, or straight from the oven!

  • 6 medium apples, peeled and chopped
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • Tbs sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • tsp nutmeg
  • cup old fashioned oats
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • cup light brown sugar
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted


  • Pre-heat oven to 350° F
  • Mix the dry ingredients first in a bowl: oats, flour, brown sugar, salt and cinnamon.
  • Add the melted butter and combine well until topping is crumbly.
  • Combine chopped apples with lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg and sugar.
  • Add the apples to a greased 8 x 8 baking pan.
  • Crumble the oat topping evenly over the apples. Bake for 30 minutes or until apple filling is bubbling and oat topping is golden brown.
  • Serve warm with ice cream, whipped cream or caramel sauce if desired.
