Ok, I am officially obsessed with Therabox! Although I have been a bit skeptical of subscription boxes in the past, this one has me sold. As soon as the box arrives, I’m already feeling happier without even opening it yet! In this post, another glowing Therabox review, I’ll show you the amazing products from the September 2020 Fall box, and share with you why Therabox is definitely worth it.
What is Therabox?
Therabox is a subscription box filled with therapist curated products to help promote self care and happiness. As their official website states it: “TheraBox was founded with one mission in mind: to inspire happier lives through practical joy boosting activities & thoughtful self care products! Each box is curated by therapists and includes a happiness activity inspired by neuroscience & positive psychology research in addition to full sized wellness items for the mind, body and soul! We believe self care = self love”.
Self care is something that I personally believe is vital to overall health. Even though on this site I’m mostly focused on the nutritional aspect of health, the rest of our physical, mental and emotional health can’t be neglected. Self care time should be regularly scheduled, with zero guilty feelings . It is health promotion after all.
Each box is themed and you’ll find products that will help you relax, reflect, or just pamper yourself. Let’s take a look at my Therabox review, the September 2020 box, with the theme Fall.
Therabox review: Sepetember 2020Fall box
The Fall box from Therabox (September 2020) is filled with products that help usher in the new season. These goodies are aimed at protecting your skin from the cooler temperatures, evoking the warm scents of autumn and even helping you unplug from screen time for awhile (something we can all use these days!). As soon as I opened the box, I was greeted with the warm scent of pumpkin pie spice, mint and other seasonal scents. Here’s why I fell (pun intended) in love with the Therabox Fall box.
Rose Gold Face Oil from Essential Rose: This was by far my favorite product in the box. Although I have oily skin, I find that patting on a bit of oil on it has actually helped balance out my oil production and make my skin smoother. I love this facial oil, from its fabulous citrusy rose scent to the way it quickly absorbs into my skin. It’s also made with 11 types of different plan-based oils to help keep your skin well moisturized during the coming colder weather. A definite must have for skincare.
Soy Candle & Wax Melt Set from the Willow Collective in Autumn Stroll: Another amazing item from the Fall box, this candle warmer gift set comes with four 100% soy wax melts that smell amazing! It comes completely with the stand, the dish, 4 soy tealights, and 4 deliciously scented soy wax melts. Perfect for setting a relaxing, autumnal vibe in your home.
Soothe and Cool Massage Oil from Way of Will: This super relaxing massage oil is made with a blend of sweet almond oil, apricot kernel oil, and jojoba oil. It smells divine (peppermint and German chamomile) and absorbs well into your skin. Try it during your next DIY foot massage!
Facial Cupping Set from Viola Vann: Cupping therapy is a form of alternative medicine in which cups are placed on the skin to create suction. It’s believed that this suction may help to increase blood flow, reduce inflammation and activate lymphatic drainage. However, as this paper states, “the mechanism of action of (CT) is not fully understood”. Nonetheless, combined with the Rose Gold facial oil, a facial cupping session can be quite a relaxing and pampering ritual before bed. Just watch a how-to video on the technique first in order to avoid bruising your skin.
Pumpkin Spiced Whipped Soap from Aminnah Skincare: This is such a fun product! It has a light, whipped texture and it smells good enough to eat! I also love that it’s made with moisturizing ingredients such as shea butter and coconut oil, plus real 24K gold dust! Now how decadent and luxurious is that?
Turmeric Recover Superfood Elixir from Vahdam Teas: Another great item from my Therabox review is this spicy blend of Turmeric, Ashwagandha, Green Tea, Ginger, Matcha and Black Pepper. It’s 100% plant based and can be enjoyed hot or cold. Full of antioxidants, this soothing drink can help keep you healthy during the cold months. Just mix with water, coconut milk or almond milk and enjoy.
Oregon Mint Balm from Portland Bee Balm: I love that this lip balm is made with only 4 ingredients: beeswax, extra virgin coconut oil, extra virgin olive oil and peppermint essential oil. It also feels really nice on my lips. It’s not greasy , sticky or waxy, just lightweight and refreshing. I’m going to have to order another one because my 9-year-old daughter totally confiscated it!
Digital Detox Card Deck from the Therabox Happy Shoppe: Every month, Therabox offers a Happiness Boosting Activity, and this month’s is a super cool Digital Detox Card Deck. It’s designed to help us unplug–literally. Screens and digital content can definitely absorb all our attention, and it’s important to disconnect in order to re-connect with ourselves. This activity is actually a 30 day Digital Detox Challenge, where each card presents an opportunity to unplug and get in touch with the real world around you. Media-Free Until After Lunch? Bring it on!
So as you can see from this Therabox review, this monthly subscription box is definitely worth it. And it’s super affordable as well.
