I don’t know about you, but I love trying new juice recipes. There are so many different combinations you can make, and each one is packed with nutrients that your body needs. Today, I’m going to share a recipe for pineapple and cucumber juice. This juice is especially refreshing on a hot day, and it’s great for getting a boost of vitamin C. Give it a try!
How to Make Pineapple Cucumber Juice
- Fresh pineapple
- Lemon juice
- Chia seeds
How to make it
First, cut off both ends of a pineapple. After that, use a pineapple slicer to cut pineapple rings or use a knife for smaller cuts. You can also buy pre-cut fresh pineapple at any grocery store.
Next, cut the cucumber into slices. I keep the skin on it but you can peel it if you like.
After that, add pineapple and cucumber slices into a blender or pineapple juice extractor. I use my high speed blender and then strain the juice for a pulpier texture. But you can use a juicer if you like a smoother texture.
Add the rest of the ingredients and blend. After blending for a few seconds, you will have pineapple and cucumber juice! If you used a blender like me, strain the juice and serve.
Refrigerate the juice until it’s cold and serve. Makes 2 servings of approximately 8 oz.
What are the benefits of cucumber and pineapple juice?
Pineapple cucumber juice benefits include high fiber, vitamin and antioxidant content.
First of all, pineapples are loaded with nutrients that boost your overall health in countless ways, while offering protection against a vast array of different diseases. They’re high in vitamin C, manganese and antioxidants.
Pineapples are great for gut health. They’re a good source of fiber, and contain an enzyme called bromelain, which helps with digestion and has anti-inflammatory properties.
The cucumbers used in this recipe are a good source of fiber, vitamin K and antioxidants. Cucumbers are 95% water, which make them a great choice when you want to stay well hydrated.
I like to add chia seeds to this pineapple, cucumber, ginger and lemon juice. Not only do they add a nice texture to the juice, but provide high amounts of fiber, plant-based protein and heart healthy omega-3 fatty acids, for additional health benefits.
Is pineapple juice a good laxative?
Pineapples provide both fiber and water, which are essential for preventing and managing constipation. Pineapple juice is also a good natural laxative due to it’s digestive enzyme, bromelain.
This particular pineapple juice recipe also has additional fiber from the cucumbers and chia seeds, making it a great choice for gut health.
When to drink pineapple and cucumber juice
This cucumber pineapple juice can be enjoyed at any time! I especially like it in the mornings since its bright, fresh taste is perfect to wake up your taste buds. It’s equally delicious and refreshing on a hot summer afternoon.
